We were able to salvage this home foundation with the help from a friend in Brimfield, MA. This home was built in the early 1800’s and had a granite sill around the majority of the structure.  This granite looks similar to that quarried down the street in Monson, MA.

Wedge shaped holes were made in the granite in order to split them.  These marks generally suggest construction from 1800’s-1870’s.
